Lime Crime is primarily known for their velvetines, which are liquid-to-matte lipsticks. Though they can be difficult to apply, they color pay of is fantastic and it lasts all day. They also have a verity of colors, from pinks to browns to purples, there is a color for everyone!
Personally, I own Wicked, Red Velvet and Riot. My favorite colors to wear in general (besides their greige, Cashmere, which I plan to buy as well). As the swatches shown below, they have great payoff. They dry in about 30 seconds, and only need one layer. Though when applied with a lip brush only they can become patchy, so the doe-foot applicator is highly recommended.
I wear these to school because they can last well over 7 hours. Though I notice the darker colors, like Wicked, feather out a little bit after this time. On the other hand, the other two colors, do not do this. It is probably due to the fact that since Wicked is so dark it's much more noticeable.
Also, after seven hours they can feel quite drying, so a good lip balm is a must for these, especially for liquid lipsticks in general.
What is great about these is that you can eat and drink water!! and they wont come off! Though of course with oily foods it will come off in the center of the lips. With these you can get away with lightly putting another layer on.
What I found interesting was that when taking them off with makeup whips, Red Velvet was VERY HARD to take off. Considering it was their first color they put out, they had time to edit the formula where it could last the longest, which makes sense.
Sorry for the crummy swatches! These were taken in natural light.
Left to right: Riot, Red velvet, Wicked. If you are looking for the a great 90s color, Riot is the way to go. Or a perfect regal red; Red Velvet. And for the perfect vampy dark brown red, Wicked. All these colors can make you look, as I like to say, fierce and beautiful. I definitely recommend!
Pros: Lasts all day, great color selection, great color pay off
Cons: Can be drying, darker colors can tend to feather
